Description

Title comes from this song [link] (skip to about the 0:57 mark). For some reason Carbon Leaf always makes me think of Arran, derr

OMG LOOK it's a finished picture of JUST ARRAN. Which doesn't sound ambitious but trust me on this, it is, he's really hard to draw. XD Not impressive enough, though, so I figured for this one I'd try to do something more interesting than usual with color. That whole background is painted with no lines! Ooooh, ahhhh. Seriously though, not very impressive, but it's been a while since I feel like I did something with my WHOLE ass as opposed to just half of it. :'D It's so simple, I can't believe it took me as long as it did, but... that's being-busy-all-the-time for you. -__-

Oh you know what, it actually occurs to me that this is so far the only solo picture I've done of him where he's not just part of the backstory. So, Arran. Fianna Ragabash (which means he's a big bad werewolf for those not in the W:tA know), does explosives for the Nomads pack, rides a motorcycle, sings loudly and terribly in a thick Scottish accent, generally annoying but very sweet and very charming when he wants to be, had a secret forbidden hookup with Lili (!). He's more complicated than that, but those are the basics. XD Also he's one of very few of my characters whose design is based on an actual person and at least one of you (~solfieri:heart:) figured out that he's modeled after James McAvoy. So there's that. He's really hard to draw guys don't judge me ;A; )

It's gotta be those adorable puppy eyes, I think that's how you really nailed McAvoy's boyish features! And a Scottish accent omg!:heart:
And don't minimize your work with lineless backgrounds, I've been tryng those for months and I still infailibly suck at them. :'P I particularly love how the trees are well "integrated" to the grass, I have enormous difficulty doing that little detail! And the lighting through the forest looks great, really realisitic!
