Aerie by temiel Aerie by temiel
Working title: "I'm a Compulsive Weirdo".

Yes, I did all that inking by hand. Yes, the left wing took me 4-5 hours. Quite frankly, I just wanted an excuse to draw Farael's pretty black wings. If the rest of him came out looking okay, it's totally a coincidence.

Pen on paper, texture/color added in PS.

I love the style of this character and the period clothes he wears, the pose is well though out and drawn well, the only thing I could say is the shoulder nearest to us looks a little too big, effecting how the arm looks, although it may just be emphasised by the shoulder pads.

The attention to detail is beautiful, especially in the characters face and the colour scheme works well, the background is tied into the character through the hair while the clothes compliment each other.

The wings stand out completely on their own through the stark contrast of the black and the amount of details put into them! However I think the shading is a little heavy on the wings and this threatens to overshadow the details.
Over all a wonderful piece and a very interesting character :)

Eighteenth Century? c:

I love the wings. The level of detail you put into the feathers is stunning.

SERIOUS 18th-century love here. :love:

Very glad you like the wings! After I was done with all those feathers it felt like my hand was about to fall off! :rofl:

<3!
I can tell you've taken the time to study the costumes of that period.

I've had artworks like that... but hey, wings are just too fun to draw. 8D

I can't help it, I love them! :heart: I draw this guy ALL the time, he's my favorite male character. :drool: Doing those wings made my hand hurt, but they were a lot of fun. Wings are so soothing to draw.

Is there any chance that you'd take a request? I really love how you draw wings and male characters, which is why I ask. ^^;
